Compost Or offers a comprehensive solution for the treatment of sludge (Bio-Solid) and municipal waste – from the removal and transportation stage, through absorption and advanced treatment, to the recycling of materials into products beneficial to agriculture and the environment. At Compost Or’s recycling park, we treat 60% of municipal sludge in Israel (approximately 330,000 tons per year) and most municipal waste (approximately 150,000 tons per year). This process is a sustainable alternative to landfilling and incineration, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and prevents soil and water pollution, odor hazards and damage to open spaces.

Compost Or’s recycling plant in the Jordan Valley is the largest and most advanced in Israel, and serves as a central logistics center for the treatment of sludge and municipal waste. The facility operates through an industrialized and controlled system, based on advanced technologies for the efficient management of absorption, treatment and recycling, while meeting strict standards. Its strategic location allows for easy access from all over the country, and facilitates the collection, removal and transportation of materials for quick and efficient treatment. The dry climate conditions in the area help reduce odor hazards and improve work processes, while maintaining a clean environment.

Our compost is produced in an industrialized and advanced process, ensuring a stable supply of clean premium produce. The stringent quality control processes include continuous monitoring of humidity, temperature, salinity and carbon-nitrogen ratio, along with independent laboratory testing. The result is a high-quality compost that improves the soil, increases its fertility, retains moisture and reduces erosion, while improving crop yields and increasing its yield. In addition, it reduces salts in the soil and groundwater pollution and is a natural, balanced, economical and effective alternative to chemical fertilization.

In each production cycle, the compost is turned 6-8 times, over a period of at least a month. The material is then moved to a maturation pile for several more months, until it is fully matured and ready for marketing.
The factory’s quality control system meets the most stringent standards.
The salinity level is the lowest on the market – between 2-4.5 dS/m.
The factory is located in Or Park, in a warm and dry area, which prevents odors and environmental nuisances.
